Type of wildlife experience

 
The Luleć archipelago has a very rich birdlife, which can be viewed from both sea and land. Seals such as ringed seal and grey seal can also be viewed form both sea and land. The ever so popular elk can be seen wandering around the woodland, best viewed from the car, early morning og late evening. Beavers can also be spotted near the waterfront.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Season
Birding: Listening to the owls from March - May, the lek of the capercaille and the black grouse in April and May, breeding season of sea birds in the Bothnia Bay from May - July.
Seals: ItŽs easiest to view seals in the summertime, from June to July but the ringed seal can also be viewed in the winter, from November - December.
Land mammals: Elks can be viewed all year and beavers from May - July 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Winter - The ice covered Bothnia Bay
In winter, activities such as skiing and skating are very popular, expecially at clear winter evenings, with twinkling stars and vibrant northern lights above. In this time of year flocks of elks can be seen migrating eastwards, and flocks of ringed seals gather at the ice edge.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Spring - Brighter nights and vibrant bird life
At this time of year skiing in the white snow is very popular. In the outermost part of the archipelago piles of ice can accumulate into big ice burgs. This is the time of the owl's singing and f the rodent supply is good the owls are abundant.  At this time you can also hear the woodpecker's drum, and the lek of the capercaille and the black grouse can also be seen and heard.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Late spring and early summer - sunny nights and migrating birds
The end of May and the beginning of June is the main birding season in the Luleć area. At this time of sunny summer nights, thousands of migrating geese, cranes and whooper swans pass by in flocks. And the local birdlife is at its peak.
